How does movement nourish? How can movement help us define ourselves beyond resilience? How do we feel into our soft tissues that hold the wisdom of our vivacious being? This is an invitation to explore DMT (Dance/Movement Therapy) and somatics within a community container. This workshop explores themes such as metabolizing oppression through expression, finding the joy of strengths, and resting in community connection.
Who: This series is open to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) folks who identify either as women/non-binary folk.
Format: In-person in a studio, downtown Toronto.
Where: Trinity Bellwoods (Queen St). The exact address will be sent to confirmed participants.
Modalities: Open to those interested in trying expressive arts therapy, dance/movement therapy and somatics as an approach for more profound self-discovery. These two workshops are a way to sample a larger group-process that will run in October 2022. Both workshops will be facilitated with different activities and thematic explorations. Feel free to sign-up for a single or double session. No movement/dance or psychotherapy experience necessary.
